Soothing Slippery Elm Bark 300mg
The best remedy for upset tummies. The gentle, natural supplement is great for when your dog experiences digestive issues like diarrhoea. The post-whelp tummies, the 6-week puppy upsets and worried-new-home tummies can all be soothed with our CNC Soothing Slippery Elm Bark.
You never want to be without this in your store cupboard. This 100% natural supplement has been used for centuries for good reason. It can help your dog's tummy by:
- Soothing Inflammation: Slippery elm contains mucilage, a gel-like substance, coats the gastrointestinal tract, providing a soothing and protective barrier.
- Helping to maintain the balance of gut bacteria. It can help normalise stool consistency, making it an excellent choice for both diarrhoea and constipation.
- Diarrhoea in dogs can lead to dehydration. Slippery elm can help increase water retention in the body!
- Can enhance nutrient absorption in the intestines, ensuring that your dog gets the most out of their food helping.

Suggested amounts: Give 1 capsule per 5kg of dog's body weight (or approx. 1/5 a capsule per 1kg of bodyweight) daily, split into smaller amounts to feed with mealtimes (2-4 times per day). It is best to pull the capsule apart to mix the capsule contents with a little water to form a wet paste, then mix into food. Should your dog not take it this way you can of course just hide the capsule in a tempting treat. You can give this at each mealtime (or every 6 hours if required) until improvement.
Warnings: Make sure fresh water is available. Slippery Elm barks helps create a protective layer in the gut so can interfere with absorption of other supplements. So this should be fed at least 3 hours before any other dietary supplementation e.g. at lunchtime in between meal times. In rare cases dog's can be allergic to certain herbs, like humans. Always carefully observe your dog following the addition of a new dietary supplement and contact your vet if you have any concerns.
